Editing & Proofreading

Editing is the process of selecting and preparing written discourse used to convey information through the processes of correction, condensation, organization, and other modifications performed with an intention of producing a correct, consistent, accurate, and complete work.

In the same way, proofreading has traditionally been about marking errors on printers’ proofs. Essentially, it is the final stages of polishing a manuscript before publication. Modern proofreading not only marks these errors but will correct them for the client. At this stage of the process the errors usually found are typographical, punctuations and incorrectly spelt words.
